Sicks in the city

Saturday night Thom and I went to see the Kinsey Sicks at the Birchmere. The show was freakin’ hilarious. The whole time I was laughing hysterically at their twisted, sexual lyrics, and thinking, “Oh, no, she did’n!” Girl, she did. The 1960s classic “I Will Follow Him” became “I Will Swallow Him.” Peggy Lee’s “Fever” was redone as “Beaver.” And so on. Check out their website to get the whole spiel on these supremely talented, pee-in-your-pants-funny guys… er, girls, and do see them in person, if you get the chance. Word is they’re coming back to the Birchmere this October.

Thom’s review includes a bit on the audience participation. I’d add that at one point they had us all singing and flapping our arms like chickens. Such is their power. As for the Choices game, I seriously had to wrestle with some of the options presented, like, who’d you rather do, Ben Affleck or Matt Damon? (Mmm, wrestle.)

OMG, I totally saw the Kinsey Sicks last year here in Chicago! What a hoot they are. I hadn’t had that much fun in a long time! Hmmm… and probably not even since then, either.

::rushes to check their web site to see if they’re touring here again::
