Still here

Just to run down some highlights from the last few days… Friday: we saw Troy at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse. Basically it was what I expected. And putting aside Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom (whom I’m not really into anyway), Eric Bana was the guy I watched most closely. Good looks and good acting. Saturday: we went to the Kennedy Center and saw The Producers. I bought the last few tickets available for the sold-out closing weekend in D.C., and I’m glad we went. Lots of fun.

Monday: Thom went to get his hair cut (finally, though I’m not one to talk since I haven’t had a haircut in about a year), so I met him in Dupont, and afterwards we had dinner at this new-ish, nautically themed Greek restaurant called Mourayo, on Connecticut Avenue a few doors down from Bistro du Coin. It’s excellent. One of their offerings is a special prix fixe dinner in honor of the Olympics. It’s available throughout August for $25, which is quite a deal. Last night: speaking of food deals, California Tortilla was giving away free chips and queso (with purchase of entrée), which they do occasionally, so we went there for dinner. Afterwards we visited the Apple store in Clarendon, since I’m really close to getting a new iBook, and wanted to check out the goods in person. Mmm, Apple. Very soon. I can taste it.

Drink the Kool-Aid already and buy the iBook.

You won’t regret it.

I pitched big tent for Eric Bana when Matt and I went to see Troy.
