Go west
In less than 12 hours, Thom and I will board a plane bound for San Francisco (via Dallas). Yay! Most of the packing is done—it took me forever to figure out what to wear to tomorrow’s dinner on the quad at Stanford; I may still change my mind—but now it’s time for bed.

That has been the topic of conversation among our friends, one going so far as to ask how we can even stand each other. Jeff will confirm that while with him at his Stanford reunion, I didn’t use the “H” word, rather telling all his friends that I had gone to the “Stanford of the East.”
We’ve been wanting to get window stickers for our car, and I suggested this morning that we create two custom designs, one with a Harvard seal but reading “Stanford of the East” and the other with a Stanford logo but labeled “Harvard of the West.”
